The object of the paper is the study of the following differential inequality \[ g'(t)\leq-\gamma(t) g(t)+ \alpha(t) g^p(t)+ \beta(t),\tag{1} \] where \(t\geq t_0\) (\(t_0\geq 0\) is fixed), \(p> 1\) and \(g(t)\geq 0\), \(\alpha(t)\geq 0\) for \(t\geq t_0\). Moreover, \(\alpha\), \(\beta\) and \(\gamma\) are assumed to be continuous on \([t_0,\infty)\). Under these and some additional assumptions it is proved that there exist solutions of (1) and all nonnegative solutions of (1) do exist on the interval \([t_0,\infty)\). Apart from this, a few results on the decay of solutions of (1) are derived. The obtained results are applicable in the study of dynamical systems (both continuous and discrete).
