Symmetric schemes in boundary value methods are applied to a family of delay equations of first order. Three families of schemes are considered: extended trapezoidal rule of first and second kind, and top order methods. By using the boundary locus technique the stability region of the symmetric schemes are analysed and their boundaries are found. Stability is proved for the symmetric schemes considered.
