The \(\lambda\)-Aluthge transform of \(X=U|X| \in M_n\) is defined by \(\Delta_\lambda(X)=|X|^\lambda U|X|^{1-\lambda}\). The authors generalize the two following results of \textit{J. Antezana}, \textit{P. Massey} and \textit{D. Stojanoff} [Linear Algebra Appl. 405, 177--199 (2005; Zbl 1074.47006)] in the context of connected noncompact semisimple Lie groups: (i) the limit points of the sequence \(\{\Delta_\lambda^m(X)\}_m\) are normal and (ii) \(\lim_{m\to \infty}\|\Delta_\lambda^m(X)\|=r(X)\), where \(\|X\|\) is the spectral norm and \(r(X)\) is the spectral radius of \(X\).
