The paper deals with the algebra \(A(K)\) of holomorphic complex valued continuous functions on a compact set \(K\subseteq\mathbb C\). Using and proving some results about invertible and reducible pairs of functions from \(A(K)\), the authors evaluate and compute the Bass stable rank of \(A(K)\) and of its subalgebra \(A(K)_{sym}\) consisting of real-symmetric functions.
