Impulsive effects exist widely in many processes in which their states are changed abruptly at certain moments of time. These phenomena can be described by means of impulsive differential equations. Because of the impulsive term, the minimal period problem for impulsive differential equations cannot be solved by the decomposition technique which is extensively used in the non-impulsive case using critical point theory and variational methods, the authors investigated the existence of subharmonic solutions with prescribed minimal period for a class of second-order impulsive differential equations. The results rectify Theorem 2.1 in [\textit{J. Yu}, ``Subharmonic solutions with prescribed minimal period of a class of nonautonomous Hamiltonian systems'', J. Dyn. Differ. Equations 20, No. 4, 787--796 (2008; Zbl 1361.34041)].
