    We call a function admissible if it is locally of bounded variation on \( \left( 0,\infty \right) \) and vanishes at infinity. We call an admissible function \(f_{0}\) general monotone (shortly we write \(f_{0}\in GM\)) if for every \(t>0,\) \[ \int_{t}^{\infty }\left| df_{0}\left( u\right) \right| \leq \int_{ \frac{t}{c}}^{\infty }\left| f_{0}\left( u\right) \right| \frac{du}{u } \] for some \(c>1.\)The main result of this paper is as follows. Let \(1\leq p<\infty \) and \(n\geq 1.\) Then for any radial function \(f\left( x\right) =f_{0}\left( \left| x\right| \right)\), \(x\in\mathbb{R}^{n}\) , \(f_{0}\geq 0,f_{0}\in GM,\) that satisfies the condition \[ \int_{0}^{1}t^{n-1}\left| f_{0}\left( t\right) \right| dt+\int_{1}^{\infty }t^{\frac{n-1}{2}}\left| df_{0}\left( t\right) \right| <\infty \text{} \] then \[ \left\| \left| x\right| ^{-\gamma }\hat{f}\left( x\right) \right\| _{L^{p}\left(\mathbb{R}^{n}\right) }\asymp \left\| t^{\beta }f_{0}\left( t\right) \right\| _{L^{p}\left( 0,\infty \right) } \] if and only if \(\beta =\gamma +n-\frac{n+1}{p}\) and \(-\frac{n+1}{2}+\frac{n}{ p}<\gamma <\frac{n}{p},\) where \(\hat{f}\) is the Fourier transform of \(f\). This paper is organized as follows. Section 2 \ provides some useful facts about the Fourier transform of radial functions. In Section 3 and 4, the authors prove auxiliary upper and lower estimates for the Fourier transform. These estimates are used in Section 6 and 7. General \(\left( L^{p},L^{q}\right) \) inequalities of Pitt-Boas are delivered by Theorem 2 in Section 5. In Section 7, the authors obtain \(\left( L^{p},L^{q}\right) \) Fourier inequalities with general weights.
