The main aim of the paper is to introduce the notion of a non-commutative nodal curve \(C\) and the notion of a vector bundle \(E\) on \(C\). The authors give a parametrization of vector bundles on \(C\) in terms of the objects of a category of bimodules (analogous to Milnor's construction), and prove that in many cases the classification problem is a ``wild problem''. Section 1: The authors introduce the notion of a non-commutative algebraic variety. This is a pair \(( (X,O_X), A)\) where \((X,O_X)\) is an algebraic variety and \(A\) is a sheaf of associative \(O_X\)-algebras which is coherent as a sheaf of left \(O_X\)-modules. It is moreover assumed that \(A\) is ``locally central'' meaning that \(\mathrm{Center}(A_p)=O_{X,p}\) for all points \(p\in X\). The authors introduce a category of bimodules \(T(A)\) in this situation analogous to Milnor's construction in the commutative case and prove that the category of vector bundles \(\mathrm{Vb}(A)\) on \((X,A)\) is equivalent to the category \(T(A)\). Section 2: The authors introduce the notion of a non-commutative nodal curve and gives a classification of such curves \(((X,O_X), A)\) in the case where \(X=\mathrm{Spec}(R)\) is an affine curve and \(A=\tilde{R}\) is the structure sheaf of \(X\). If \(A=O_X\) and \(p\in X\) id a singular point it follows \(A_p\) is nodal if an only if \(p\) is an ordinary double point hence the notion of a nodal non-commutative curve generalize the commutative case. Section 3: The authors introduce the category of non-commutative nodal curves of string type and gives a classification of isomorphism classes of vector bundles on such curves in terms of equivalence classes of objects in a category \(D(A)\) -- a category of ``bunch of chains''. Section 4: The authors introduce the notion of a non-commutative nodal curve of almost string type an gives a classification of vector bundles on such curves similar to what was done in section 3. In section 5 the authors prove that the category \(\mathrm{Vb}(A)\) is wild in many cases and in section 6 the authors give a lot of explicit examples. The paper leaves many details to the reader.
