The paper deals with solutions of indefinite Kirchhoff type equations with steep potential well \[ \begin{cases} \displaystyle -\left(a \int_{{\mathbb R}^N} |\nabla u|^2\;dx +b\right)\Delta u +\lambda V(x)u=f(x,u) & \text{in}\;{\mathbb R}^N,\\ u\in H^1({\mathbb R}^N). & \end{cases} \] By means of variational methods, the authors obtain existence or non-existence of nontrivial solutions. Moreover, the phenomenon of concentration of solutions is also studied.
