In one of his recent works [\textit{S. M. Moshtaghioun} and \textit{J. Zafarani}, Taiwanese J. Math. 10, No. 3, 691--698 (2006; Zbl 1109.47063)], the author defined strong complete continuity for the subspaces of operator ideals. In this paper, he introduces a related concept, namely, the strong alternative Dunford-Pettis property (strong \(DP1\)) for subspaces of operator ideals: if \(\mathcal{U}\) is an operator ideal, a linear subspace \(\mathcal{M}\subseteq \mathcal{U}(X;Y)\) is called strongly \(DP1\) in \(\mathcal{U}(X;Y)\) if, for any compact operators \(R: Y \rightarrow W\) and \(S: Z \rightarrow X\), the operators \(L_R\) and \(R_S\) defined by \[ L_R(T)=RT \;\;\text{and}\;\;R_S(T)=TS \] are alternative Dunford-Pettis (\(DP1\)) as operators from \(\mathcal{M}\) into \(\mathcal{U}(X;W)\) and into \(\mathcal{U}(Z;Y)\), respectively, where \(X, Y, Z\) and \(W\) are any Banach spaces. Among the presented results, a similar characterization to that was shown in the above mentioned paper for subspaces with the strong \(DP1\) property is proved and an application of this concept is given.
