In one or two dimensions it is known that identical particles may be classified not only as bosons or fermions but also as new objects satisfying fractional statistics (anyons). Accordingly, in the present paper the authors consider applications of a recent Lieb-Thiring inequality for anyons in low dimension and derive new Lieb-Thiring inequalities for intermediate statistics in one dimension. They applied these inequalities to the stability of anyonic matter and to the Calogero-Sutherland model in one dimension.
