The authors prove an explicit lower bound, \(C(n)\), for the volume of complex hyperbolic orbifolds that depends only on the dimension. This generalizes their previous result on the real hyperbolic case, cf. [\textit{I. Adeboye} and \textit{G. Wei}, Algebr. Geom. Topol. 12, No. 1, 215--233 (2012; Zbl 1255.57015)]. As a corollary to the main theorem, an upper bound for the order of the group of isomorphisms of complex hyperbolic \(n\)-manifolds is given in terms of the constant \(C(n)\) and the volume of the manifold, or its Euler characteristic. The paper is well-written. It starts by describing the complex hyperbolic \(n\)-space as the quotient \(\mathrm{SU}(n,1)/U(n)\) and studying the Lie group \(\mathrm{SU}(n,1)\) and its canonical metric. In order to prove the main theorem, the complex hyperbolic orbifold is realized as the base of a Riemannian submersion with total space a quotient of \(\mathrm{SU}(n,1)\) and generic fibers totally geodesic \(U(n)\)'s. The volume estimates follow from this geometric structure, a volume bound due to Gunther [\textit{S. Gallot} et al., Riemannian geometry. 2nd ed. Berlin etc.: Springer-Verlag (1990; Zbl 0716.53001), Theorem 3.101] and a result of \textit{H. C. Wang} on the geometric properties of Lie groups [J. Differ. Geom. 3, 481--492 (1969; Zbl 0197.30403)].
