For \(1\leq q<\infty\), let \(\Pi_q(X,Y)\) be the space of absolutely \(q\)-summing linear operators from a Banach space \(X\) to a Banach space \(Y\). The classical Extrapolation Theorem, due to \textit{B. Maurey} [Astérisque 11, 1--163 (1974; Zbl 0278.46028)], combined with a result by \textit{G. Pisier} [Reg. Conf. Ser. Math. 60, X, 154 p. (1986; Zbl 0588.46010)], asserts that if \(1<r<q<\infty\) and \(\Pi_q(X,\ell_q)=\Pi_r(X,\ell_q)\), then \(\Pi_q(X,Y)=\Pi_t(X,Y)\) for every Banach space \(Y\) and every \(0<t<q\). In the article under review, an abstract version of this theorem for absolutely summing nonlinear operators is presented and some previous extrapolation type results for multilinear/polynomial mappings are recovered as particular cases. The proof is built on some techniques developed by the last three authors in [Adv. Math. 229, No. 2, 1235--1265 (2012; Zbl 1248.47024)].
