An adaptive boundary element method for Symm's integral equation is analyzed both in the two- and three-dimensional space. It incorporates the approximation of the Dirichlet data into the adaptive scheme. The authors prove quasi-optimal convergence rates for any \(H^{1/2}\)-stable projection that is used for the data approximation.
