Some finiteness results in the category \(\mathcal U\) (Q2354646)

In this paper \({\mathcal U}\) is the category of unstable modules over the Steenrod algebra modulo \(2\). The authors consider finiteness properties in \({\mathcal U}\). The main result says that a finitely generated module in \({\mathcal U}\) has an injective resolution consisting of finite direct sums of indecomposable injective modules. There is also a stabilisation result for iterations of the Frobenius twist or double endofunctor \(\Phi\): if \(M\) and \(N\) are finitely generated modules in \({\mathcal U}\) then the morphism \[ \text{Ext}^i_{\mathcal U}(\Phi^k M,N)\to \text{Ext}^i_{\mathcal U}(\Phi^{k+1} M,N) \] is an isomorphism whenever \(k\) is sufficiently large.
