Some 60 years ago, Tate proved a duality theorem for the cohomologies of an abelian varieties and its dual over a \(p\)-adic field as well as a duality theorem for the Tate-Shafarevich groups of an abelian variety and its dual over a number field. Recall that the Tate-Shafarevich group of an abelian variety \(A\) over a number field \(k\) consists of classes of torsors under \(A\) which are trivial for all completetions of \(k\). The aim of the present paper is prove analogous duality theorems for abelian varieties over a function field of a smooth projective curve over a \(p\)-adic field or over \(\mathbb C((t))\). The results are a little too complicated to present them here. The last section of the paper deals with the finiteness of the first Tate-Shafarevich group of an abelian variety over a function field as above.
