This paper deals with the asymptotic behaviour of solutions of differential equations having the form \[ {\mathbf x}'(t)={\mathbf F}(t, {\mathbf x}(t), {\mathbf x}(\gamma(t))), \] where \(\gamma:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) is a step function and \({\mathbf F}: \mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{C}^p\times\mathbb{C}^p\to\mathbb{C}^p\). Various particular cases of this equation are discussed. In particular, stability of solutions of the equation \[ w'(t)=A(t)w(t)+B(t)w(\gamma(t))+f(t, w(t), w(\gamma(t))) \] is studied, boundedness of solutions of the linear equation \[ y'(t) = A(t)y(t) +B(t)y(\gamma(t)) + g(t) \] is investigated, asymptotic equivalence of this equation and \[ v'(t) =A(t)v(t) +B(t)v(\gamma(t))+g(t) + f(t, v(t), v(\gamma(t))) \] is proved under certain conditions, and exponential dichotomy is also established for some equations. This provides further enrichment in the theory of differential equations with piecewise constant arguments.
