The authors study the Szegő projection on the distinguished boundary of the model worm domain \[ D_{\beta}=\left\{(z_1,z_2)\in\mathbb{C}^2\,|\, \Re(z_1e^{-i\log|z_2|^2})>0,\,|\log|z_2|^2|<\beta-\pi/2\right\},\qquad\beta>\pi, \] where the distinguished boundary is defined to be \[ d_b(D_{\beta})=\left\{(z_1,z_2)\in\mathbb{C}^2\,|\, |\arg z_1-\log|z_2|^2|=\pi/2,\,|\log|z_2|^2|=\beta-\pi/2\right\}. \] The authors first suitably introduce the Hardy space on the distinguished boundary \(d_b(D_{\beta})\), then define the Szegő projection to be the orthogonal projection from \(L^2(d_b(D_{\beta}))\) onto the Hardy space. The authors prove that the Szegő projection is \(L^p\)-bounded if and only if \(\frac{2}{1+\nu_{\beta}}< p <\frac{2}{1-\nu_{\beta}}\), and is \(W^{s,2}\)-bounded if and only if \(0\leq s<\frac{\nu_{\beta}}{2}\), where \(\nu_{\beta}=\frac{\pi}{2\beta-\pi}\). Both the \(L^p\) and the Sobolev \(W^{s,2}\) estimates are sharp. The authors also consider the Sobolev \(W^{s,p}\) regularity of the Szegő projection. They introduce a necessary condition for the \(W^{s,p}\)-boundedness. At the end, the authors show a transformation formula between the Szegő projection on the model worm domain \(D_{\beta}\) and the Szegő projection on its biholomorphic model \(D'_{\beta}\). The paper is self-contained and provides a good reference to study the Szegő projection on smooth bounded worm domains.
