Second order continuous and discrete Painlevé equations have been classified by H. Sakai into 22 classes among which one finds multiplicative difference (or \(q\)-) Painlevé equations. Recently a \(q\)-Painlevé type system (system A) has been obtained from a reduction of the \(q\)-Garnier system. The author shows that system A is associated with another realization of the affine Weyl group symmetry of type \(E^{(1)}_7\) compared with the well-known \(q\)-Painlevé system of type \(E^{(1)}_7\) (different from the viewpoint of evolution directions). The author studies also a connection between these two systems and constructs determinant formulas for particular solutions of system A in terms of the terminating \(q\)-hypergeometric function.
