The authors consider a one-dimensional conservation system describing viscous gas flow with reaction, diffusion, and radiation. The variables are the velocity, specific volume, temperature, and fraction of the reactant. The Cauchy problem is considered from the point of view of global solvability and large-time behaviour. Under some assumptions on the parameters (inequalities) and initial distributions (regularity) the existence of a unique global bounded solution, that tends to the equilibrium at time infinity, is proved.
