\textit{F. M. Atici} and \textit{P. W. Eloe} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 137, No. 3, 981--989 (2009; Zbl 1166.39005)] studied fractional-order analogues of integer-order difference operators. Here the authors generalize their results on sequential differences. In particular they consider triple sequential differences, namely compositions of three fractional differences (each of a possibly different order). The fractional difference used here is based on the notion of finite convolution. Further, the relationship between the discrete fractional difference and the positivity or monotonicity of the function is considered. The authors believe that their convolution-type definition can be useful in the analysis of several qualitative properties.
