The authors consider the Pilipović spaces \(\mathcal{H}_{0,\flat_{\sigma}}\) and \(\mathcal{H}_{\flat_{\sigma}}\) of Beurling and Roumieu type, respectively. These are spaces of functions on \(\mathbb{R}^d\) which have Hermite series expansions \[ f(x)=\sum_{\alpha\in\mathbb{N}^d}c_{\alpha}(f)h_{\alpha}(x) \] and whose coefficients satisfy \(|c_{\alpha}(f)|\leq Cr^{|\alpha|}\alpha!^{-1/(2\sigma)}\), for all $\alpha\in \mathbb{N}^d\), for every \(r>0\) and a suitable \(C=C(r)>0\) in the Beurling case and for some \(r,C>0\) in the Roumieu case. Denoting by \(H\) the harmonic oscillator, in the main result the authors characterise the elements of \(\mathcal{H}_{0,\flat_{\sigma}}\) and \(\mathcal{H}_{\flat_{\sigma}}\) in terms of the growths of the \(L^p\) norms of \(H^Nf\), \(N=N_0,N_0+1,\dots,\) where \(N_0\in\mathbb{Z}_0\) depends only on \(\sigma\). A~similar characterisation is also given in terms of the norms of \(H^Nf\), \(N=N_0,N_0+1,\dots,\) in certain weighted modulation spaces \(M^{p,q}_{\omega}\).
