In this paper, the authors considered the existence of periodic wave of nonautonomous reaction-diffusion equation in a time-periodic shifting environment. This type of equations models the population growth in a shifting media and may arise from the biological question whether the species can survive from the climate change. Under a subhomogeneity condition, the authors proved that there is $c*>0$ such that a unique forced time periodic wave exists if and only if $|c|<c*$ and it attracts other solutions in a certain sense according to the tail behavior of initial values. In the case where $|c|\geq c*$, the propagation dynamics resembles that of the limiting system as $\xi\to\pm\infty$, depending on the shifting direction. This paper is highly motived by the current research [\textit{H. Berestycki} et al., Bull. Math. Biol. 71, No. 2, 399--429 (2009; Zbl 1169.92043)].
