Let \(\kappa\) be a perfect field of characteristic \(p > 0\). Let \(Y\) be a smooth proper variety over \(\kappa\). Then the second-named author of the paper under review [Math. Z. 292, No. 1--2, 307--316 (2019; Zbl 1410.14019)] defined a notion called the ``quasi-Frobenius splitting height'' of \(Y\), denoted by \(h_{F}(Y)\). He showed that if \(h_F(Y) < \infty\), then \(Y\) lifts to \(W_2(\kappa)\). For smooth proper \(Y\) with trivial canonical bundle, and that \(h^i(\mathcal{O}_Y)= 0\), for all \(0 < i < \dim Y\), the second-named author also showed that \(h_F(Y)\) is equal to the height of the Artin-Mazur formal group of \(Y\) (in middle cohomological degree). The present article generalizes the above theorems to smooth proper logarithmic schemes over \(\kappa\) of Cartier type (\(\kappa\) being equipped with a fs log structure). Among other things, a \(W_2(\kappa)\)-liftability criterion similar to that of Kawamata-Namikawa is given. Various results about Hodge degeneration and Kodaira vanishing are deduced as well.
