Let \(A\) be a positive operator on a Hilbert space \(H\). An operator \(T\in B(H)\) is called \textit{\(A\)-invertible} if there exists \(S\in B(H)\) (an \(A\)-inverse) such that \(ATS=AST=A\). Such \(S\) is unique if \(A\) is injective. Let \(\|\cdot\|_A\) denote the norm determined by the inner product \(\langle x,y\rangle_A=\langle Ax,y\rangle\), \(x,y\in H\), and let \(B_{A^{1/2}}(H)\subset B(H)\) be the subalgebra of operators bounded with respect to the norm \(\|\cdot\|_A\). Conditions are given for the \(A\)-inverse to lie in \(B_{A^{1/2}}(H)\). The \(A\)-spectrum for operators in \(B_{A^{1/2}}(H)\) is defined using \(A\)-invertibility and some of its general properties are established.
