The authors prove the following quantitative \(h\)-principle for isotropic embeddings: Let \(V \subseteq \mathbb C^n\) be an open subset, let \(k < n\), and let \(u_0, u_1 : D^k \hookrightarrow V\) be isotropic embeddings of the closed \(k\)-disk with respect to the canonical symplectic structure. If there exists a homotopy \(F : D^k \times [0,1] \to V\) between \(u_0\) and \(u_1\) of size less than \(\epsilon\) (i.e., the diameter of \(F(\{z\} \times [0,1])\) is smaller than \(\epsilon\) for all \(z \in D^k\)) then there exists a compactly supported Hamiltonian isotopy \(\Psi = (\Psi_t : V \to V)_{t \in [0,1]}\) of size less than \(2\epsilon\) (i.e., the diameter of \(\{ \Psi_t (z) : t \in [0,1]\}\) is smaller than \(2 \epsilon\)) such that \(\Psi_1 \circ u_0 = u_1\). From this result, the authors prove as a corollary that there exists a compactly supported symplectic homeomorphism of \(\mathbb C^3\) taking a given symplectic \(2\)-disc to an isotropic one.
