Summary: We obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of at least three positive solutions to the second-order nonlinear delay differential equation with one-dimensional \(p\)-Laplacian \[ \begin{cases} (\phi_p(x'(t)))'+w(t)f(t,x(t),x(t-\tau),x'(t))=0,\quad t\in (0,1),\;\tau > 0,\\ x(t)=0,\quad -t\leq t\leq 0,\\ x(1)=0\end{cases} \] where \(\phi_p(s)\) is the \(p\)-Laplacian operator, i.e., \(\phi_p(s) = |s|^{p-2}s\), \(p>1\), \((\phi_p)^{-1}=\phi_q\), \(\frac1p+\frac1q=1\). The arguments are based upon a new fixed point theorem in a cone introduced by Avery and Peterson.
