The theory of polynomial representations of \(\mathrm{GL}_{n}(\mathbb{C})\) is closely related to that of \(\mathrm{GL}_{\infty}(\mathbb{C})\). The most significant property is that polynomial functors are exact when evaluated on vector spaces. This theory does not, however, generalize readily to the orthogonal and symplectic groups. The purpose of this paper is to develop an analogous functorial theory for spinor representations. It transpires that there is a parallel theory of oscillator representations for the symplectic Lie algebra, so the authors develop them both simultaneously. This continues earlier work by the authors on developing orthogonal and symplectic analogues of Schur functors. They define a category of representations of what can be thought of as the infinite rank pin and metaplectic groups and give three models in terms of multilinear algebra, diagram categories, and twisted Lie algebras. They also specialize functors to the finite rank groups and calculate the derived functors.
