This very interesting paper discusses three-dimensional elastodynamic wave scattering problems in the frequency domain (harmonic). The particular problem of a spherical inclusion within an infinite medium is dealt with, including cavity, soft and hard inclusions. The problem is analyzed by the boundary element method and a complete description of the numerical implementation is presented. Particular emphasis is given to different representations of the fundamental solution which prove to be quite useful for those working in the field.
