Noncommutative spectral geometry of Riemannian foliations (Q1383233)

This paper constructs spectral triples given by transversally elliptic operators with respect to a foliation on a compact manifold; the author indicates that forthcoming papers will extend this work further. The first section deals with the transversal pseudodifferential calculus (the classes \(\Psi^{m,-\infty}(M,F,E)\), anisotropic Sobolev spaces and the classes \(\Psi^{m,\nu}(M,F,E)\), symbolic properties of the classes \(\Psi^{m,-\infty}(M,F,E)\), residue trace). The second section deals with transversally elliptic operators (definitions and basic properties, complex powers, \(G\) trace, zeta function). The final section discusses spectral triples of Riemannian foliations (proofs of main theorems, geometric examples, concluding remarks).
