The authors are concerned with the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations governing the motion of viscous compressible fluids with potential temperature transport. They first establish a dissipative measure-valued -- strong uniqueness result that is valid as long as the strong solution exists. As an application, they derive a priori error estimates for a mixed finite element-finite volume method. The numerical solutions are performed on polyhedral domains that approximate the smooth bounded domain, where the exact solution exists.
