This paper deals with a spatial integral equation which can be considered as the equation that governs the steady states for the population dynamics of a species with nonlocal dispersion and nonlocal intra-species competition. As such, existence of a positive solution to this spatial equation is an interesting and important topic and is the concern of this paper. The kernel in the nonlocal diffusion is assumed to be symmetric and locally diagonally positive. Under various conditions on the kernel in the nonlocal reaction term and applying the bifurcation theory, some results on the existence of positive solutions are established.
