The (logarithmic) Mahler measure \(m(P)\) of a non-zero rational function \( P\in \mathbb{C}(x_{1},\ldots,x_{n})^{\times }\) is given by \[ m(P)=\frac{1}{(2\pi i)^{n}}\int_{\mathbb{T}^{n}}\log \left\vert P(x_{1},\ldots,x_{n})\right\vert \frac{dx_{1}}{x_{1}}...\frac{dx_{n}}{x_{n}}, \] where the integration is taken over the unit torus \(\mathbb{T} ^{n}=\{(x_{1},\ldots,x_{n})\in \mathbb{C}^{n}\mid \left\vert x_{1}\right\vert =\cdot \cdot \cdot =\left\vert x_{n}\right\vert =1\}\) with respect to the Haar measure. In connection with extremal problems for Bergman spaces, \textit{I. E. Pritsker} defined in [J. Math. 52 (2), 347--363 (2008; Zbl 1232.11111)] an analog of the Mahler measure of an element \(P\) of \(\mathbb{C} (x_{1},\ldots,x_{n})^{\times }\) as follows: \[ m_{\mathbb{D}}(P)=\frac{1}{\pi ^{n}}\int_{\mathbb{D}^{n}}\log \left\vert P(x_{1},\ldots,x_{n})\right\vert dA(x_{1})\cdots dA(x_{n}), \] where \(\mathbb{D}^{n}=\{(x_{1},\ldots,x_{n})\in \mathbb{C}^{n}\mid \left\vert x_{1}\right\vert ,\) \(\cdot \cdot \cdot ,\) \(\left\vert x_{n}\right\vert \leq 1\},\) and the measure is the natural measure in the \(A^{0}\) Bergman space. He proved some evaluations of multivariable cases, and showed, in particular, the equality \[ m_{\mathbb{D}}(P)=\log \left\vert a\right\vert +\sum\limits_{\left\vert \alpha _{j}\right\vert \geq 1}\log \left\vert \alpha _{j}\right\vert +\frac{1 }{2}\sum\limits_{\left\vert \alpha _{j}\right\vert <1}(\left\vert \alpha _{j}\right\vert ^{2}-1), \] when \(P(x)=a\prod\limits_{j=1}^{d}(x-\alpha _{j})\in \mathbb{C}[x].\) In the paper under review, the authors evaluate \(m_{\mathbb{D}}(P)\) for some non-trivial multivariable polynomials and rational functions \(P,\) and as in the case of the Mahler measure, they find examples yielding special values of \(L\)-functions.
