In this paper under review, the author considers higher order Dirichlet \(L\)-functions over function fields \(\mathbb{F}_q[t]\) with characters \(\chi\) such that \(\chi\ell=1\). More precisely, he computes the one-level density of zeros for cubic and quartic Dirichlet \(L\)-functions over function fields when \(q\equiv1 (\) mod \(\ell) \), and for cubic, quartic, and sextic Dirichlet \(L\)-functions over function fields when \(q\not\equiv1 (\) mod \(\ell)\). In both cases, the obtained main terms match with those predicted by random matrix theory (RMT). However, the lower order terms are not predicted by RMT. As consequence, it is shown that the symmetry type of the families is unitary which supports Katz and Sarnak's philosophy.
