The authors consider two numerical transparent boundary conditions that have been previously introduced in the literature, the first one proposed by \textit{V. A. Baskakov} and \textit{A. V. Popov} [Wave Motion 14, No. 2, 123-128 (1991; MR 92g:78001)] and by \textit{J. S. Papadakis, M. I. Taroudakis, P. J. Papadakis}, and \textit{B. Mayfield} [A new method for a realistic treatment of the sea bottom in the parabolic approximation, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 92, 2030 (1992)] and the second one is that of \textit{F. Schmidt} and \textit{P. Deuflhard} [Comput. Math. Appl. 29, No. 9, 53-76 (1995; Zbl 0821.65078)] and of \textit{F. Schmidt} and \textit{D. Yevick} [J. Comput. Phys. 134, No. 1, 96-107 (1997; Zbl 0878.65111)]. As the second scheme is unconditionaly stable, the authors present a new derivation of the second method. Some numerical results are presented.
