The present paper studies the zero distribution for \(\zeta'(s)\), the derivative of the Riemann zeta function, and obtains some conditional improvements. The interest in this area partly comes from the close relation between the zeros for \(\zeta'(s)\) and those for \(\zeta(s)\) itself; a classical example is \textit{A. Speiser}'s theorem [Math. Ann. 110, 514--521 (1935; Zbl 0010.16401)] that the Riemann Hypothesis is equivalent to the nonexistence of nonreal zeros of \(\zeta'(s)\) to the left of the critical line \(\text{Re}\, s=1/2\). In this paper, the author considers the horizontal and vertical distributions of the zeros of \(\zeta'(s)\), both under the assumption of the Riemann Hypothesis. With some careful estimates of the argument \(\vartheta(\sigma+iT)=\frac{1}{2\pi}\text{arg}\left(-\frac{2^{\sigma+iT}}{\log 2}\frac{\zeta'}{\zeta}(\sigma+iT)\right)\), the author obtains some conditional asymptotic formulas with better error terms than the previous unconditional results of \textit{N.~Levinson} and \textit{H. L. Montgomery} [Acta Math. 133, 49--65 (1974; Zbl 0287.10025)] and of \textit{B.~C. Berndt} [J. Lond. Math. Soc. (2) 2, 577--580 (1970; Zbl 0203.35503)], respectively. In his argument, the author also observes an explicit relation between the vertical zero distributions of \(\zeta'(s)\) and that of \(\zeta(s)\), which is a refinement of the conjecture of \textit{S. L. Skorokhodov} [Zh. Vychisl. Mat. Mat. Fiz. 43, No. 9, 1330--1352 (2003); translation in Comput. Math. Math. Phys. 43, No. 9, 1277--1298 (2003; Zbl 1079.41012)] (a modification to a conjecture by \textit{R. Spira} [J. Lond. Math. Soc. 40, 677--682 (1965; Zbl 0147.30503)]).
