In the paper, the authors study multiplication operators \(M_{\psi}\) between the space \(\mathcal{L}\) of complex-valued Lipschitz functions on an infinite tree \(T,\) that is, a locally finite connected graph without loops, and the space \(L^{\infty}\) of bounded complex-valued functions on \(T\) under the supremum norm. \(T\) is considered as a metric space under the distance that counts the number of edges connecting two vertices, and the symbol \(\psi\) is a complex-valued function on \(T\). The authors characterize when the operators \(M_{\psi}: \mathcal{L}\rightarrow L^{\infty}\) and \(M_{\psi}: L^{\infty}\rightarrow \mathcal{L},\) \(M_{\psi}f=\psi f,\) \(f\in \mathcal{L}\) or \(f\in L^{\infty},\) respectively, are bounded, bounded below and compact in terms of the symbol \(\psi,\) and they determine the operator and the essential norm. Moreover, it is shown that no isometries exist among the multiplication operators between these spaces. As \(\mathcal{L}\) and \(L^{\infty}\) can be regarded as discrete counterparts of the Bloch space \(\mathcal{B}\) and the Hardy space \(H^{\infty},\) respectively, this paper can be interesting in order to study the operator norm of the bounded multiplication operators from \(H^{\infty}\) to \(\mathcal{B},\) which is still an open problem.
