Let \(X\) be a regular schemes. The paper under review extends to the case of the projectivization of a ``nice'' coherent sheaf \(E\) the projective bundle form, i.e. a semiorthogonal decomposition of the derive category of \(\mathbb {P}E\), [\textit{D. O. Orlov}, Russ. Acad. Sci., Izv., Math. 41, No. 1, 1 (1992; Zbl 0798.14007); translation from Izv. Ross. Akad. Nauk, Ser. Mat. 56, No. 4, 852--862 (1992)]. Here `` nice '' is `` \(E\) has homological dimension \(\le 1\) and both \(\mathbb {E}\) and \(\mathbb{P}(Ext^1(E,\mathcal {O}_X))\) are of the expected dimension. The paper has \(3\) major applications: (i) a formula for the blowup along a codimension \(2\) Cohen-Macaulay subspace; (ii) a result for a large class of flops obtained by a crepant resolution (iii) applications to symmetric powers of curves and \(\Theta\)-flops. The authors shows that formula is very useful in the study of derived categories of moduli spaces.
