The paper deals with the boundary value problem \(L=L(\Omega(x),R_{00},R_{01},R_{10},R_{11})\) for the Dirac system \[ By'-\Omega(x)y=\lambda y, \quad 0<x<\pi, \] where \(\lambda\) is the spectral parameter, \[ B=\left(\begin{matrix} 0&1\\ -1&0\end{matrix}\right), \quad \Omega(x)=\left(\begin{matrix} p(x)&0\\ 0&q(x)\end{matrix}\right), \quad y(x)=\left(\begin{matrix} y_1(x)\\ y_2(x)\end{matrix}\right), \] \(\!p(x)\) and \(q(x)\) are real-valued functions in \(L(0,\pi),\) under the spectral parameter dependent boundary conditions \[ R_{j1}(\lambda)y_2(0)-R_{j0}(\lambda)y_1(0)=0, \quad j=0,1, \] where \(R_{j0}\) and \(R_{j1}\) are normalized polynomials with real coefficients having no common zeros. The authors prove that the coefficients of \(L\) are uniquely determined by a set of nodal points (i.e., zeros) of the first components of eigenfunctions provided that the mean value of the sum \(p(x)+q(x)\) is known a priori. For this purpose detailed asymptotic formulae for the eigenvalues and nodal points are obtained.
