First, let's recall the fundamental notion introduced long time ago by J.~T. Arnold to study the Krull dimension of the power series ring. An ideal \(I\) of a commutative ring \(D\) is said to be a SFT-ideal if there exist a finitely generated ideal \(F\subseteq I\) of \(D\) and a positive integer \(k\) such that \(a^k\in F\) for each \(a\in I\). In this paper, the authors prove that, in particular cases, the gap between the ideals \(M[[X]]\) and \(MD[[X]]\), in terms of prime ideals of \(D[[X]]\), is huge if \(M\) is a non-SFT maximal ideal of an integral domain \(D\). Indeed, if (1) \(D\) is a \(1-\)dimensional quasi-local domain or (2) \(M\) is the radical of a countably generated ideal, then \(ht\big(M[[X])/MD[[X]]\big)\geq 2^{\aleph_1}\). The result is then applied in the case of the ring of algebraic integers and in the ring of integer-valued polynomials on \(\mathbb{Z}\).
