A discrete Fourier method for solving strongly coupled mixed hyperbolic problems
Theoretical approximation in context of PDEs (35A35) Initial value problems for second-order hyperbolic equations (35L15) Initial-boundary value problems for second-order hyperbolic equations (35L20) Fourier coefficients, Fourier series of functions with special properties, special Fourier series (42A16) Finite difference methods for initial value and initial-boundary value problems involving PDEs (65M06)
The authors propose a discrete Fourier method for constructing a stable numerical solution of strongly coupled mixed hyperbolic equations. Using the Crank-Nicholson scheme the exact solution of the discretized problem is found. The stability of the discrete solution is analyzed and illustrative examples are included.
