A lecture on the classical KAM theorem
Research exposition (monographs, survey articles) pertaining to dynamical systems and ergodic theory (37-02) Perturbations of finite-dimensional Hamiltonian systems, normal forms, small divisors, KAM theory, Arnol'd diffusion (37J40) Perturbations, KAM theory for infinite-dimensional Hamiltonian and Lagrangian systems (37K55) Nearly integrable Hamiltonian systems, KAM theory (70H08)
This is a fine survey article. Emphasis is placed on the underlying ideas and techniques needed to prove the KAM theorem in its most basic form. The proof is clearly and elegantly described in all the details; together with all the remarks this makes the article useful for an introductory course to KAM theory or to all those readers who wish a first deeper encounter with the traditional methodology of this theory.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0973.00044].
