Additively indecomposable quadratic forms over totally real number fields

From MaRDI portal

The authors prove several results about quadratic forms. They show that if \(K\) is a real quadratic field then there exists at least one additively indecomposable binary quadratic form over \({\mathcal O}_K\). Further, they give an upper bound for the norm of the determinant of additively indecomposable totally positive definite quadratic forms defined over the ring of integers of totally real number fields. This leads to finding lower and upper bounds for the minimal rank of \(n\)-universal quadratic forms. They classify all classical additively indecomposable binary quadratic forms for \({\mathbb Q}(\sqrt{D})\) for \(D=2,3,5,6,\) and \(21.\)
