Almost finite modules
From MaRDI portal
Let \(A \to B\) be a local homomorphism between Noetherian local rings. A \(B\)-module \(M\) is said to be almost finite over \(A\) if it is finitely generated over \(B\). In the present paper, the author investigates behaviors of such modules. For example, almost finite modules of finite flat dimension have similar properties as finitely generated modules of finite projective dimension. The author also shows that some properties of \(B\) descend to \(A\) if there is an almost finite \(A\)-module of finite flat dimension.
