Determining sets for functions and measures
Classes of sets (Borel fields, (sigma)-rings, etc.), measurable sets, Suslin sets, analytic sets (28A05) General properties of functions of one complex variable (30A99) Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes transforms and other transforms of Fourier type (42B10) Integral geometry (53C65) Geometric probability and stochastic geometry (60D05)
This paper surveys the problem of ascertaining the extent to which a function or measure (defined on some appropriate space) is determined by its integral over geometrically pleasant subsets (lines, planes, balls, etc.) of the space in question. Emphasis is placed on those aspects of the problem in which harmonic analysis and complex function theory play a role.
