Evolution, interaction and collisions of vortex filaments.
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Several progresses have been done very recently on models for the dynamics of one or more vortex filaments in three-dimensional fluids. In this article we survey the recent and previous results in this topic. We also present some new situations of filaments collapse.
Starting from the binormal flow approximation of the vorticity formulation of the Euler equation for incompressible \(3\)-dimensional fluids, the authors present a review of some results concerning the dynamics of single vortex filaments and of systems of nearly parallel vortex filaments.
