Examples of fixed point free mappings
From MaRDI portal
It is well-known that a nonexpansive selfmap of a convex subset \(C\) of a Banach space need not have a fixed point, even if \(C\) is in addition closed and bounded, or weakly compact, or weakly-\(*\) compact. In this interesting survey, the author illustrates this for the Banach spaces \(c_0\), \(\ell_1\), \(L_1\), and others.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0970.54001].
