Finite element methods for convection-diffusion problems using exponential splines on triangles

The authors construct a new Petrov-Galerkin finite element method on a triangular grid for singularly perturbed elliptic problem in two dimensions. Numerical results show that the new method is able to compute strinkingly accurate solutions on coarse meshes.
