Finite rank Butler groups with small typesets
Recall that a finite rank Butler group is a pure subgroup of a finite direct sum of rank one torsionfree Abelian groups and an almost completely decomposable group is any finite extension of a finite direct sum of rank one torsionfree groups. The authors investigate the structure of these groups which have four-element typeset \(T=\{\tau_0,\tau_1,\tau_2,\tau_3\}\), where \(\tau_2>\tau_3\), \(\tau_1\) is incomparable to both \(\tau_2\) and \(\tau_3\) and \(\tau_0=\tau_1\cap\tau_2=\tau_1\cap\tau_3\). At the end of the paper two useful examples illustrating the results obtained for Butler and almost completely decomposable groups are presented. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0921.00018].
