Fundamental solution of thermoelasticity of orthotropic cylindrical shells

From MaRDI portal

Thin orthotropic cylindrical shell in thermal contact with environment having zero temperature is considered. The shell is heated by volume heat sources, uniformly distributed along thickness. Linear temperature distribution along the shell thickness is assumed, convective heat exchange with environment according to the Newton law occurs. Fundamental solution for an infinite cylindrical shell heated by a concentrated heat source is constructed within the framework of Kirchhoff-Love hypotheses. Solution of the governing system of partial differential equations of the eighth order for displacements is found by Fourier transform and is expressed in terms of special functions. Asymptotic behavior of displacements in the vicinity of heat source is determined. A numeric example is considered, plots of displacements are presented.
