The subject of this short research announcement is the comparison of the Poisson cohomology \(HP^*(\Lambda(a,b))\) of some Poisson algebra \(\Lambda(a,b)\) with the Hochschild cohomology of some deformation \(\Lambda_q(a,b)\) of \(\Lambda(a,b)\). More precisely, \(\Lambda(a,b)\) is the truncated polynomial algebra \({\mathbb C}[X,Y]/(X^a,Y^b)\) for integers \(a\) and \(b\) together with the Poisson bracket defined by \(\{X,Y\}=XY\) and the Leibniz rule. This algebra is the semi-classical limit algebra of the quantum complete intersection \(\Lambda_q(a,b)\) studied in [\textit{P. A. Bergh} and \textit{K. Erdmann}, Algebra Number Theory 2, No. 5, 501--522 (2008; Zbl 1205.16011)]. Namely, the Hochschild cohomology ring \(HH^*(\Lambda_q(a,b))\) of \(\Lambda_q(a,b)\) is computed in this paper. The main result in the paper under review is that \[ HP^*(\Lambda(a,b))\cong HH^*(\Lambda_q(a,b)) \] as graded commutative algebras. This is shown by explicit computation and comparison with the aforementioned result. A second result is the construction of a Poisson module \(M_{\nu}\) corresponding to the Nakayama automorphism \(\nu\) of \(\Lambda_q(a,b)\) (using the construction of a previous paper by the authors [Lett. Math. Phys. 79, No. 2, 161--174 (2007; Zbl 1139.17008)]) such that \[ HP^k(\Lambda(a,b))\cong HP_k(\Lambda(a,b),M_{\nu}). \] The paper is surprisingly self-contained, explicit and readable for this kind of short note.
